About two days ago I was chatting with one of the truest human beings/brothers I know, Brian Haule. Whenever Brian and I chat or talk, two things are certainly to lead our topics; music and life. Him and I come a long way. From the days we used to sit kijiweni in Upanga and count cars to the days we hustled together for education in Uganda.
In our lately conversation we discussed about the whereabouts of some of the old school bongo fleva stars. I remember we mentioned people like OCG[ Remember him with Kazeze?]. Then we wondered where O-Ten is [the dude from Morogoro and East Coast-Upanga]. I am sure if we had gone on and on with our talk, we could have reached Tanga and certainly Wagosi wa Kaya would have been mentioned alongside Joni Woka.
Little did I, or did we know that Joni Woka was cooking something new. What made him stand out from the crowd is his unique style[he goes like a drunk muthe...fu.%%$$ who would say anything]. It was nice creativity then and I believe it still resonates today. His new track is titled Mkora. Ras Lion is featured in this one. Listen Up…and ask yourself…aren’t you a Mkora?Lol
